Now, sarees spell anand for Timsy...
She is finally pursuing her passion as a profession. But Timsy Anand confesses that she doesn''t quite know when the transformation took place.
"I have always been interested in fabrics, designs and art. Although I headed SITA Travels and worked as the lobby manager at the Maurya Sheraton earlier, somewhere, deep down inside me, I was aching to follow my interests more avidly," explains Timsy.
Style is integral to the Timsy Anand school of thought.

And this is precisely what the lady will present through an upcoming exhibition of 5,000 exclusive sarees from across India which are being brought to Delhi in association with Deepam Sarees of Bangalore and will be unfurled at the Maurya Sheraton''s Kamal Mahal between November 23 and 25.
"My wardrobe includes quite a few sarees from Deepam. When people here started making frequent enquiries, I reckoned it wouldn''t be a bad idea to actually showcase the sarees in Delhi," offers Timsy, who will present the exhibition with Chandra Shekhar, the MD of Deepam Sarees. Chandra Shekhar, on his part, promises to make the exhibition an affair to remember: "I have handpicked all the sarees myself and ensured that each piece on display is unique."
Among the spectrum of sarees to be presented are one-piece creations in Baluchari, tussar, kantha, Venkatagiri and tissue, apart from Garhwals, Kanjeevaramas and sarees from the Devdas collection. "The idea is to showcase a diverse range rather than stage an exhibition which is area-specific," says Chandra Shekhar.
While Timsy paves the path for exquisite designs to be presented in Delhi through her venture Andaz, does she plan to turn designer herself? "I am an amateur pursuing a passion and I would prefer to leave things there." But this won''t deter her spirit to experiment.
"Keeping the Christmas season in mind, I will soon bring to Delhi Belgian artist H Berner, who designs rugs for children. I aim to be different each time." Andaz apna apna, did someone say?
